Men's Soccer Explodes to 9-1 Win

Knights score eight goals in second half

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College men's soccer team scored eight goals in the second half to defeat Penn State-Abington, 9-1, Tuesday afternoon at Sun Valley High School.

 

Chuck Rudolph and Michael Rudden each netted a pair of goals for Neumann (2-6-2). Jesse Urquhart, Andrew Leissing, Brett Fenimore, Neewilli Saie and Francis Dancey all tallied for the Knights.

 

PSU-Abington opened the scoring early, getting its goal just two minutes into the contest. Rudden answered with his first goal of the contest at the 7:13 mark to tie the game at one. The game would remain knotted at one into the break.

 

The Knights came out on fire in the second half and broke the tie two minutes into the half on a goal by Rudolph. Urquahrt scored his goal a minute later to give Neumann a two-goal cushion. Leissing, Rudden and Rudolph then scored tree goals in a four minute span for a 9-1 Knights lead. Dancey, Fenimore and Saie all scored for the icing on the cake.

 

Neumann will travel to Marywood on Saturday for a Colonial States Athletic Conference game. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
