9/8/2008 9:18:52 PM

Neumann's women's tennis team travelled to King's College today for a non-conference match.  The Knights were looking to rebound from a tough conference loss late last week.  Through grit and determination the Neumann team pulled off an upset win over the stronger King's team 5-4.

Leading the charge for Neumann was freshmen Ali DeTolla (Mullica Hill, NJ. / Clearview HS).  DeTolla helped win at the #2 doubles flight and then turned around and won at  #2 singles 6-3, 6-3.  Head coach Chris Gosseuax stated, "Ali was fantastic in her effort today.  She was focused and attacked each point."

Helping Neumann pull out the win were senior Courtney Hartel (Clifton Heights, PA. / Upper Darby HS) who won 6-2, 6-3 at third singles. Junior Lindsey Ravior (MInotola, NJ. / Buena Regional HS) won at fourth singles 7-5, 6-2.  Ravior had been down 5-4 in the first set before coming back to win. Sophomore Rachel Coladonato (Broomall, PA. / Archbishop Carroll) won in the 6th singles flight 6-4, 6-2.

Neumann improves to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.  The Knights will take on Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday September 10th in Annville, PA.
