WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Neumann College women's ice hockey team defeated Williams College, 4-2, Friday nights in non-conference action.
Nicki Blazenko netted two goals, one power play, off of two Jessica Schroeder assists in the first period to put the Knights up after one.
Williams scored a power play in the beginning of the second to cut the Neumann lead to 2-1. Holly Williams then scored off a pass from Jasper Thomson to give the Knights the two-goal cushion back.
Nicole Alexopoulos put Neumann up 4-1. The Ephs netted one goal for a 4-2 game at the 2:46 mark, but strong defense by the Knights during the remainder of the third period guided Neumann to the victory.
Mel Brunet made 33 saves in net for Neumann, who improves to 7-7 on the season. The two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon. The puck is slated to drop at 3 p.m.
