ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell to No. 6 Rochester Institute of Technology, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in a ECAC West contest.
Jessica Schroeder notched a goal and two assists. Nicki Blazenko added a goal and an assist. Kayla Dubowski notched two assists. Shannon Donnelly made 26 saves in net.
RIT struck first 2:41 into the game. Schroeder knotted the game at one 14:21. The Tigers would add two power play goals and take a 3-1 lead in the first intermission.
The Tigers scored 20 seconds into the second period to take a 4-1 lead. Neumann's Blazenko would net a goal at the 18:35 mark for a 4-2 RIT lead in the second intermission.
Diane Peters scored 14:05 into the third period, but the comeback would end there and RIT took the 4-3 win.
Neumann (2-1-1, 0-1-1 ECAC West) will host Oswego State next Saturday and Sunday in ECAC West action. The puck will drop at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
