HARTFORD, Conn. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped a non-conference game, 3-2, Friday afternoon to Trinity College.
Holly Williams and Jennie Greenlee scored for the Knights. Shannon Donnelly made 49 saves in net.
The Bantams scored the game-winning goal with three seconds left in regulation.
Williams opened the scoring at the 11:54 mark of the first period. Jasper Thomson and Nicole Alexopoulos assisted on the goal. Trinity tied the game 24 seconds later. The game remained 1-1 at the first intermission.
The Bantams took a 2-1 lead 2:45 into the second period and a 5-on-3 power play. Greenlee scored her first collegiate goal at the 13:49 mark. The two teams went into the second intermission knotted at two.
As the game looked as it was going to overtime, but Trinity netted the game-winner with three seconds left on the clock.
Neumann (4-5-1) will travel to Wesleyan tomorrow for a non-conference contest. The puck is set to drop at 3 p.m.
