ASTON, Pa – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Rosemont College, 82-59, in Colonial States Athletic Conference Thursday night in Colonial States Athletics Conference (CSAC) action.
Brittany Whetts led the Knights with 18 points. Nicole Feby added 17 points while Stephanie Fanto netted 14.
Kate Clarkson led Rosemont with 14 points. Karen Boyle and Ashley Montecchio both added 11.
Neumann took control in the first half and shot 51.6 percent from the field. With the game tied at 9-all with 14:38 left in the first half, the Knights went on a 15-0 run to take a commanding 24-9 lead. The Knights held a 43-22 advantage at halftime.
NU built its lead to as many as 30 points in the second half, 55-25. Rosemont chipped away, but could not get any closer than 18 points, 70-52, with 5:10 left on the clock. The Knights kept their lead in the second half and took the 82-59 win.
Neumann is now 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Knights will host Rutgers-Camden next Thursday beginning at 7 p.m.
