READING, Pa. – The Neumann College men's tennis team officially opened its season with a 9-0 win at Alvernia University Tuesday afternoon.
The Knights opened the match sweeping the doubles matches. Dave Pfister and Brian Crispin won first doubles by an 8-2 score. Chris Brown and Dan Harnos won second doubles, 8-6 and Greg Bridgeman and Steve Klenk took third singles, 8-0.
Pfister won his first singles match, 6-2, 7-5. Brown took the second singles, 6-0, 6-1. Crispin won third singles, 6-3, 7-5. At fourth singles, Bridgeman won 6-1, 7-6 (8-6). Harnos took fourth singles by a 6-1, 6-0 score and Klenk wrapped up singles by at a 7-6 (10-8), 10-8 in a super tie breaker.
The Knights return to the court on Friday as they host Lebanon Valley. The match is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
