Men's Tennis Defeat Eastern

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College men's tennis team defeated former conference foe Eastern University, 8-1, Wednesday night in a non-conference match up. The win boosted the Knights to a 5-1 overall record so far this season.

The Knights led the match by a 2-1 margin following doubles action. The team of David Pfister and Brian Crispin defeated Mike Roth and Jordan Gates 8-5.  Chris Brown and Dan Harnos beat Bryan Arnett and Sean McGuinness 8-2. At third doubles, the duo of Steve Klenk and Greg Bridgeman lost to Taylor Kiser and Josh Hall, 7-9, but not without putting up a fight.

Knights rolled the momentum gained from doubles into singles action, winning all six matches. Pfister emerged victorious following a three-set marathon match again Roth, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Brown posted a three-set win against Arnett at the No. 2, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.  Crispin rolled through defeating Kiser 6-1, 6-1. Bridgeman triumphed over Wilson, 6-1, 6-0. Harnos clinched the match for the Knights defeating McGuninnes after winning the first set in a tie breaker, 7-6 (2), 6-4. Steve Klenk topped Josh Hall 8-4 at No. 6.

The Knights return to action back on the courts, tomorrow when they face Chestnut Hill. The match is slated to start at 3:30pm.
