Knights Fall to Royals

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College women's lacrosse team lost to the University of Scranton, 16-6, Thursday afternoon in non-conference action.

 

Gabby D'Ambrosio and Alen Bohen each scored twice for the Knights. Tiffany Baker made seven saves in net while Kathleen Sinclair made four in the second half.

 

Erin Quinn netted five goals for the Royals. Katie Slade scored four while Caroline Pryor had three. Cassie Murphy made 13 saves in net.

 

Scranton struck quickly with two foals in the first minute. Neumann answered back with two goals to even the score at two. The Royals then took off and scored seven consecutive goals before Colleen Finnegan scored to end that streak. Scranton took an 11-5 lead into halftime.

 

The second half was quieter then the first. D'Ambrosio got Neumann off to a quick start, scoring with 26:37 left on the clock, but the Royals defense clamped down and did not allow the Knights another goal. Scranton scored five goals in the second half.

 

Neumann returns to conference action on Saturday as it faces Gwyned-Mercy College at 11 a.m.
