CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann College men's tennis team defeated DeSales University, 9-0, Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match up. The win boosted the Knights to an 11-3 overall record so far this season.
The Knights did not lose a set in the match en route to the win. Neumann's No. 1 doubles team of David Pfister and Brian Crispin defeated Michael Cejovic and Tom Allen, 8-2. Dan Harnos and Chris Brown continued their winning ways with an 8-1 triumph over Dan Bullen and Joe Sulpizio. Abe Joseph and Greg Bridgeman posted an 8-1 victory over Seth Conklin and John Snyder.
The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play and increased their advantage to 4-0 following a win by Pfister at first singles 6-1, 6-0, over Cejovic. Brown defeated DeSales's Tom Allen, 6-2, 6-3 at second singles. Crispin at third singles topped Bullen, 6-4, 6-3. Bridgeman only gave up two games to be victorious over Sulpizio 6-2, 6-0, at fourth singles. Harnos rallied off another win at fifth singles winning over Conklin, 6-1, 6-1. Joseph clinched the match for the Knights, defeating Snyder in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
The Knights return back to action tomorrow when they travel up to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to play against King's College. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
