ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University soccer team held on for a 3-2 win over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Cabrini College Wednesday afternoon.
Even Morgan started the scoring in the 27th minute of the contest, off a header from Andrew Leissing. The Knights took a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute when Lee Collins scored from Michael Frei. Neumann took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Cavaliers cut the Knight's lead to one just 1:46 into the second half. Paul Konneh scored, off a pass from Frei in the 62nd minute to put Neumann back up by two. Cabrini scored in the 65th minute, but could not get the equalizer and the Knights came away with the 3-2 win.
Bob Mastrillo made seven saves in net as the Knights improved to 10-3-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference. The 10 wins is a men's soccer program record for wins in a season.
Neumann will host Marywood, also 6-0 in the conference, on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. in a CSAC action.
