HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – In its first post-season appearance, the Neumann University women's soccer team fell to Centenary College, 2-1 in double overtime, in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs.
Centenary got on the board first as Caitlin Veverka scored in the 12th minute. Alanna Daniel (fr. Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) the scored for the Knights to tie the game at one. Maria Tivoli (so. Lancaster, Pa. / Manheim Township) assist on the goal in the 28th minute. The teams would go into halftime knotted.
The Cyclones and Knights would play through the rest of regulation and the first overtime without another goal being scored.
Veverka scored her second goal of the contest off of a corner kick in the second overtime to lift the Cyclones to the semifinals.
Neumann finishes the season 6-10-1.
