ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Cedar Crest College 79-59 Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Cecily Scavicchio led the Knights with 21 points. Katie Young notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Krista DiRomualdo added 11 points while Jess Foulks netted 10.

Lizzy Sunderhaus led the Falcons with 21 points and 14 boards. Leann Wallower netted 19 points and Amber Wehry added 11.

Neumann and Cedar Crest were tied at 8-all when the Knights netted nine straight points for a 17-9 lead and never looked back. Neumann built up its lead to 17 in the first half and took a 43-26 advantage into halftime.

The second half was no different. The Knights kept the Falcons are arms length and built up as much as a 30 point lead, 77-47, with 5:45 left on the clock. Despite Cedar Crest scoring 12 of the final 14 points, Neumann cruised to the 79-59 win.

Neumann (4-4, 2-0 CSAC) will host Marywood University on Monday evening at 6 p.m. in conference play. During halftime of the men's game, the Women's Basketball 2010 CSAC Championship Banner will be unveiled.
