ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of games to No. 16 Ursinus College Wednesday afternoon. The Knights fell 1-0 in 8 innings in the first game, and then 11-1 in the second game.

Ursinus scored in the eighth inning for a 1-0 win in the first game. Rachel Purpuro pitched 7.0 scoreless innings. Sarah McGann pitched the eighth.

In game two, the Bears put two runs on the board in the first inning. Lauren Castiello then knocked in Crystal Perlman to put the Knights on the board in the home half.

However, Neumann would not be able to score any more runs. Ursinus added four more runs in the second and seventh innings to complete the sweep.

Neumann (2-10) will host Rosemont as it opens conference play on Friday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
