CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team tied 2-2 with Widener University Friday evening as the teams played at PPL Park, home of the Philadelphia Union.
Evan Morgan and Andrew Leissing scored the goals for the Knights. Zach Sell, Ryan Bushbeck, Nathan Beideman and Leissing each had five shots. The Knights outshot the Pride 26-11.
Widener opened the scoring in the 17th minute. Neumann then answered with two goals in 40 seconds in the 21st minute. Evan knotted the game at one while Andrew put the Knights up 2-1. The teams went into halftime with the 2-1 score.
The Pride tied the game at 2-all in the 64th minute. Neumann had two point blank shots in the final eight minutes, but missed and the game went into overtime.
Bushbeck had a chance to win the game for the Knights in the final 30 seconds, but Widener made the save on his header.
Neumann (3-1-1) will host Johns Hopkins on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. under the lights.
