ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team won its fourth straight game with a 6-0 win over Rosemont College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on a rainy and windy Wednesday evening.
The Knights got their six goals from six different players. Heather Hopkins and Maria Tivoli scored 26 seconds apart in the eighth minute to jump out to an early 2-0 lead.
Nica Meccariello sprinted down a quarter of the field with the ball and made the score 3-0 in the 43rd minute.
Neumann struck with two quick goals again, this time in the 59th minute, as Rosie Kays and Jordyn Agresta found the back of the net.
Allie MacNeill would cap the scoring as her free kick deflected off a Rosemont defender and went into the net.
The Knights held the ball in the Ravens half of the field for the majority of the game. The defense only allowed two shots, on which keeper Briana King made the saves. King and Brittany Russ combined for the shutout.
Neumann (11-4, 8-1) will travel to Centenary College on Saturday. Game time is slated for 1:00 PM
