ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University Men's Soccer team defeated Keystone College 2-1 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Tuesday evening. Both goals for the Knights were scored by Senior Captain Andrew Leissing.
Neumann opened scoring in the 15th minute when Leissing took a shot from above the 18 yard box, out of Keystone Goal Keeper Dany O'Rourke's reach, landing in the back of the net.
The Giants would counter in the 39th minute with an unassisted goal by Julio Pertuz, but it would not be enough to stop Neumann. Andrew Leissing struck again in the 81st minute to seal the scoring, off an assist from Sam Cole.
Leissing's second goal would give him the edge to be the new leader for career goals with 27. He now carries 67 career points, making him tied for first with 2011 graduate Zach Sell.
Alex Lacko made one save in net to keep the Knights ahead in the game. Neumann travels to Marywood University on Saturday for a key CSAC match-up beginning at 7pm.
