ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Basketball team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College 85-77 in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up Wednesday evening.

Neumann led the majority of the game in points beginning. At the 15:57 mark of the first half, Bethany Humenik made two free throws that put the Knights up for good and they never looked back. Neumann's biggest lead in the first half was 11, twice. The Griffins would cut the lead to four, 40-36, heading into halftime.

The Knights went on a game high 12 point run to start the second half for a 52-63 lead and the Griffins would not get any closer than six points during the rest of regulation.

Junior Humenik led Neumann with 26 points, while Bryn Cotteta led the Griffins with 15 points. Sophomore Erica Marvel trailed right behind Humenick with 19 points, including four three-pointers. Lauren Walker knocked down 16 points and Sami Borcky added 13. Laura Scott grabbed 14 rebounds.

Neumann improves to 2-4 overall, and 1-1 in the CSAC. The Knights will host Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday. The game is slated to begin at 1PM.
