ASTON, PA- The Neumann University Knights welcomed the Baptist Bible Defenders into the Mirenda Center Thursday night with a 77-61 Knights victory in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

The Knights were led by Katie Young who scored 16 points and brought in eight rebounds. Kieran Young and Cecily Scavicchio both scored 14 points and Erica Marvel finished off the game with 12 points of her own.  Krista DiRomualdo also contributed defensively with four steals.

The Defenders were led by Kacee Rava who brought in a double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Jessica White also had a big game for the Defenders with 20 points and six rebounds.

The Knights did not trail in this game as they kept the pressure on the Defenders for the entire first half. Neumann went on a 6-0 run to jump out to a quick 11-2 lead in the early minutes of the game. Baptist Bible shot 37% from the field in the first half and also turned the ball over 16 times.  Neumann took advantage of their time on the line going 7-7 in the first 20 minutes.  Going into halftime Neumann had a comfortable 41-24 lead.

Neumann opened up the second half on a 7-0 run extending their lead to 24 points. Baptist Bible improved their shooting percentage to 56% in the second half but that would not be enough as the Knights cruised to a 77-61 victory.

With the win, the Knights improve to 15-7, 12-1 in CSAC, the Defenders fall to 12-10, 7-6 CSAC.

The Knights will travel to Rosemont on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
