ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team defeated Immaculata University 3-0 in its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Brittany Russ made four saves in net in route to the shutout. With the Knights up 1-0 midway through the first half, the senior keeper game a fingertip save to hold the lead.
Kristin Ambrose opened the scoring for the Knights in the 31st minute of the contest. The junior scored off a cross from Ashley Hawkins.
Nica Meccariello gave Neumann a 2-0 lead on a tight angle shot just below the 6-yard line in the 67th minute. Jordyn Agresta gave the Knights an insurance goal when the ball came to her out off a muffed shot by Hawkins.
The Knights outshot Immaculata 13-7. Neumann improves to 3-3 on the season and 1-0 in the conference. The Knights will host Wesley on Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM.
