ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team had a strong second half to defeat Rosemont College 72-55 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Neumann used a four minute span in the beginning of the second half to take a 33-31 lead and make it a 45-34 advantage. The Ravens would not go quietly and chipped away at the Knights lead and got to within five, 53-48, with 6:19 left on the clock.

The Knights poured it on through the final six minutes and outscored the Ravens 19-5 for the 72-55 final.

The first half was a different story as the score was tied seven times as each team would go on mini-runs. With the score tied at 22 with 2:54 left in the first half, the Knights rattled off seven straight points. Neumann held a 31-36 advantage at the half.

Brittany Wood led four Knights in double-digits with 13 points. Cecily Scavicchio notched 12 points, Erica Marvel had 11 while Bethany Humenik added 10.Sami Borcky pulled down 10 rebounds.

Elizabeth Coyne led all players with 28 points and 14 rebounds for the Ravens. Ashley Montecchio added 14 points.

Neumann improves to 8-9 overall and 7-2 in the CSAC. The Knights travel to Centenary on Wednesday for a 7:00 PM CSAC tip-off.
