Box Score
ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Basketball team fell to Alvernia University 81-67 in non-conference action Monday evening.
The Knights trailed the Crusaders all night, but it didn't stop them from putting their mark on the scoreboard. Senior Sami Borcky led Neumann with 20 points, followed by fellow senior teammate Cecily Scavicchio with 16. Twelve of Scavicchio's points came from the three-point line where she went four-for-five.
Neumann had a rough start as they were down by 12 just eight minutes into the first half. The Knights would catch-up with a few baskets, but would go into half-time down by 13 with a score of 32-45.
The tables would turn at the start of the second half as the Knights would try to bridge the gap they had created. Neumann had 35 second half points, just a step behind Alvernia with 36 as they kept pace with each other, but the Knights could not overcome the deficit from the first half.
Neumann, 10-10, will travel to Immaculata on Wednesday evening for conference action beginning at 6 PM.
