Box Score

POMONA, N.J. – The Neumann University men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Richard Stockton College in non conference action Monday night.

The Knights came up short, when their best opportunities were manufactured late in the second half. The first chance came off a cross from the left hand side and the ball travelled through the six yard box. Nick Ranalli was there but he couldn't get the correct touch needed to redirect the ball into the Ospreys net.

The other chance went begging when Mike McCarthy guided a header that banged off the wood work (Crossbar).
The Osprey attack had been contained all night long by the Knights defenders up until the 80th minute when the Knights conceded a free kick from 45 yards away from goal.  Neumann stood tall and cleared the first ball high but not wide. The Osprey attacker took a first time volley 25 yards from goal and lodged the shot up into the upper 90 of the net to take a 1-0 lead.

The Knights pressed for half chance opportunities, the final ball into the box would let them down at every turn.

Tim Glaccum played fantastic in the goal, but had no chance of saving the decisive and only goal in the game.

The Knights will travel to Keystone College October 3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) slated for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
