Women's Soccer Can't Withstand Pacers Late Charge

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's soccer team was defeated 3-2 by Marywood University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Saturday afternoon, in a highly contested game that the Knights were not able to hold on to the lead in the late stages of the game.
 
The Knights were led by Maria Tivoli and Tonia Russo as each scored a goal.
 
Neumann managed two goals in quick succession, scoring in the 71st and 72nd minute of play. Where the attack didn't create the volume of opportunities, but of those chances, they were effective and efficient.
 
It seemed that the Knights did all that they need to do. But the Knights defense couldn't stay firm , as the Pacers scored two goals in a four minute span. The Pacers final goal was scored with 48 seconds remaining in regulation.
 
The game winning goal was in double overtime, at the 102:36 minute.
 
The Pacers outshot the Knights 25-8. Brianna King made 11 saves.
 
The Knights (7-6-3 overall, 5-2-2 CSAC) host Notre Dame of Maryland University October 23, slated for a 4 p.m. start
