Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team clinched the No. 1 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) by beating Rosemont College 2-1 Saturday afternoon.

Brandon Green scored both goals to lead the Knights with a strike in the first half and another in the second half.

Neumann honored the seven seniors Andy Attah, Nathan Beideman, Kyle Tysoe, Chace Wasco, Michael Frei and Michael McCarthy with a great win for a regular season finale.

The match start chippy and physical play followed throughout the entire game. Both teams would create opportunities, but the Knights struck first with only 10 seconds remaining in the half. The Knights rushed to get a corner off and as the ball bounced in the box Tahirou Kanneh slid a pass to Green. Green was eight yards from net and kicked the venomous strike into the back of the net.

Neumann took control of the game in the second half with numerous opportunities that went begging. Beideman influenced the second goal when he beat a few players in the midfield and guided a pass into Green's path. Green allowed the ball to come across his body and struck the ball back post to take a 2-0 lead.

The Ravens made a late surge when they scored in the 88th minute, but there were no late heroics.

Alex Lacko made three saves.

The Knights (12-5-3, 8-0-1) are scheduled to play and host the semi-final game Thursday November 1.
