IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 2-1 win at Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
With the win, the Knights clinch the third seed in the CSAC postseason.
The game was a 0-0 defensive struggle until the 60th minute. Kristin Ambrose scored on a corner kick to give Neumann a 1-0 lead. The Mighty Macs answered 10 second later, however.
Meghan Garsey was not about to see the game go into extra time and score the eventual game-winner in the 76th minute. She made a run from the midfield and launched a shot from outside the box.
Briana King made two saves in net for the Knights. Neumann outshot Immaculata 21-4 in the game.
Neumann (9-6-2, 7-2-2 CSAC) will be the No. 3 heading into the postseason and will host the No. 6 seed in the first round next week.
