Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team stayed undefeated in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) by beating Cabrini College 2-0 Saturday afternoon.

Caleb Clanton scored two goals to lead the Knights to victory. Clanton scored his first goal off a throw-in and he had to wait for the ball to stop bouncing around in the penalty box in the 68th minute of the game. Clanton “C-Note” took the ball out of the air Cajon style, brought to his feet and torpedoed a shot to lower left hand corner of the goal from 16 yards out.

Clanton, again, was in the mood for scoring. He look at his foot apparel to see if he had his scoring boots on and sure enough, Clanton wormed his way into the box and zipped the ball past the out stretched hands of the Cavaliers goalkeeper in the 78th minute.

The Knights outshot the Cavaliers 21-3 as Alex Lacko stretched out his arms to pick off three services into the box. Mike McCarthy was credited for his assist on Clanton's first goal. Francis Kailondo help set up the second goal of the game.

Michael Frei received a generous applause from the crowd in the first half when he hit a side volley from the corner of the 18 yard box and hit under the cross bar but didn't go across the goal line for a goal. What brought the fans to their feet was the velocity and force he struck the ball with such intent.

The Knights (6-4-2) travel CSAC opponents Keystone College on Monday October 8th for a 6 p.m. start time.
