Box Score

SCRANTON, Pa.  – The Neumann University men's soccer team prevailed 2-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) against Keystone College Monday night.

The Knights waited with great anticipation as the game was postponed on two different occasions due to inclement weather, but Monday night the game was held at the Marywood University turf stadium.

Neumann's Caleb Clanton and Chace Wasco each scored a goal and Michael McCarthy assisted on both goals.
McCarthy and Clanton are making it a habit to link up with one another. McCarthy launched a throw-in that missed all that challenged to get a piece of the leather ball. Christmas came early for Clanton when the ball fell to his feet six yards from the middle of the goal. He used a quick cheeky toe poke to deliver the first blow and give the Knights a 1-0 lead in the middle of the second half.

Wasco was next to step up and give the Knights a glass breaking lead to make it 2-0. McCarthy zipped in another throw-in and the ball puddle jumped its way to the back post. Wasco was able to settle the ball and tuck it underneath the goalkeeper. The low finish was atypical as he usually finds the third floor window. Wasco took his window of opportunity and didn't disappoint.

The Giants made the last 10 minutes very entertaining as they scored off a miscue from the Knights and a ball was looped into the net from 40 yards out to make it 2-1.

Alex Lacko made three saves in goal.

The Knights (7-4-2) host Johns Hopkins University October 10th at 7 p.m.
