ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell 86-59 to Messiah College on Tuesday evening in the home opener.

Erica Marvel and JoHanna Metzger each netted 11 points to lead the Knights.

The Knights and the Falcons played evenly for the first part of the first half and Neumann held a 13-10 lead with 14:01 left on the clock. Messiah then went on an 11-0 run to take a 21-13 lead. Two free throws by Bethany Humenik broke the scoreless streak.

Neither team missed a free-throw in the first half.

Messiah then held control of the game and took a 41-28 lead into halftime. The Falcons kept the Knights at a double-digit deficit throughout the second half to come away with the 86-59 win.

Neumann (0-3) will look for its first win when it starts conference action on Thursday, November 29 when it travels to Cairn University. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
