GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team dropped its first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest to Gwynedd-Mercy College, 89-75, on Wednesday evening.

Erica Marvel led the Knights with 17 points. JoHanna Metzger netted 13 points. Bethany Humenik notched 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jessica Schlesman also handed out six assists.

The first half was back and forth and featured 11 ties, including at the end of the half at 44 each.

The Griffins scored the eight of the first 10 points of the second half for a 54-46 lead. The Knights could only get to within four points during the rest of regulation as Gwynedd-Mercy kept them at arm's length in the second half.

Neumann (2-4, 2-1 CSAC) will host Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon in CSAC action. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
