Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team is defeated by Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rivals Cabrini College 80-52 Wednesday evening on senior night.

The defeat couldn't take away from the service and dedication that seniors Sami Borky and Cecily Scavicchio have brought to Neumann University. The two were honored before the game and received a well deserved applause from the crowd.

The Knights fell well short in a game that proved to get away straight off the tipoff. The Cavaliers would jump out to a quick 10–0 lead. Laura Scott then entered the game and the Knights pounded the ball down low for three consecutive baskets and cut the lead to six points leading 12-6. The Cavaliers turned it up by having cutters ran off picks for easy looks at the baskets, hitting uncontested layups. The half would close with the Knights down by 17 points leading 31-48.

The Cavaliers kept their foot on the pedal and drove the lead up to as many as 29 in the second half. The Cavaliers apparently didn't score enough points in the game and with their final possession with no shot clock. They continued to run the offense with only seconds remaining looking to score, but to no avail. The Knights gave up 24 points in the paint for the second half.

Bethany Humenik scored 17 points and Borky scored 14 points.

The Knights (10-11, 10-4 CSAC) are back in action this Saturday Feb. 11th against CSAC foe Gwynedd-Mercy College, slated for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
