Knights and Wolverines Battle to 1-1 Draw

9/12/2012 9:52:00 PM

Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team tied 1-1 with Wesley College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

The Wolverines scored the first goal of the game in the 33rd minute. The ball was launched towards the Neumann end and the Wesley player got the last foot on it and it shot into the Knights net.

Andy Attah notched the Knights goal on a penalty kick in the 64th minute.

The game was very physical and went back and forth. Each team had opportunities and balls clanking off posts as the other team sighed in relief.

The teams played an extra 20 minutes, but no one could find the back of the nets and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Alex Lacko made many diving saves and grabs off of corner kicks. He was credited with three saves from shots on the net. Dan Chrashewsky and Mike McCarthy maintained a presence in the backfield and kept moving balls forward towards the other end of the field. Attah and his fancy footwork had him moving around Wolverines defenders but he could only find the back of the net on the penalty kick.

Neumann (2-2-1) will travel to Widener on Saturday for non-conference action beginning at 4:00 PM.
