ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with Elizabethtown College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
The teams battled on the field and each had its chances, but no one could find the back of the net as both goalkeepers stood tall.
The best chances came in the extra time for both teams. With time running out in the first overtime, the Knights put pressure on in the Blue Jays end of the field. Nathan Beideman and Clanton Caleb each had shots that went wide before the clock ran out.
In the second overtime, it was Elizabethtown that had its chances. Alex Lacko came out and made a save that then bounced off of him and back to the Blue Jay. Elizabethtown then thought it had an empty net but the Knights defense was there to block the shot while Lacko got back into position.
Lacko finished the game with four saves. The Knights outshot the Blue Jays 16-13.
Neumann (3-2-2) will host York (Pa.) College on Saturday as part of a tripleheader out on the turf field. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
