Men's Soccer Struck Down by Spartans

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team fell to non-conference opponent's No. 15 York College (Pa.) 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

York scored two late first half goals and cruised to victory scoring the third goal in the 73^rd minute.

It appeared that anything that could go wrong did go wrong. But that was mostly due to the quality play of York.

Statistically, the Knights were right there as York only outshot the Knights 15-11, but the Knights had a 4-3 advantage on corners. The biggest statistical margin of difference was that the Knights Alex Lacko had to make three saves and both York keepers didn't have to make any saves.

“It would have been great to see us compete better against a good team,” remarked Coach Sloan. “They were clearly the better team on the day and we'll have to learn from our mistakes.”

The Knights play and host their first conference game on Wednesday September 26 at 6 p.m.
