ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team blanked Baptist Bible College 8-0 on Tuesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. With the win, the Knights moves to a .500 record at 7-7-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the CSAC.
Tonia Russo, Jordyn Agresta and Ashley Hawkins each netted two goals. The defense stood tall and allowed just one Defender shot in the game. The Knights finished with 41 shots, 22 on goal, led by Russo with 10.
Neumann scored four goals in each half. Russo opened the scoring in the fifth minute off an assist from Agresta. Agresta then scored off an assist from Hawkins in the seventh minute. Hawkins made the score 3-0 in the 18th minute and Emily Sanders tallied the assist. Agresta scored her second goal of the game to wrap up the first half with the Knights being up 4-0.
In the seconds half, the Knights benefitted from an own goal in the 47th minute. Russo then scored her second goal in the 57th minute, followed by Hawkins notching her second goal in the 59th minute. Alexa DeRose capped the scoring in the 85th minute.
Neumann will host Marywood on Saturday in its final regular season home game beginning at 1:00 PM.
