ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell to Immaculata University 70-61 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

JoHanna Metzger netted 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Knights. Jessica Schlesman notched 12 points and eight assists. Erica Marvel and Colleen Hinde each added 10 points.

The largest lead in the first half was just five points and the teams were tied nine times. Schlesman hit two free throws with 22 seconds left on the clock and the fittingly went into halftime tied at 30.

The second half started much like the first. It wasn't until after the midway point that Immaculata started to pull away. With the Knights within one, 46-45, the Mighty Macs went on a 12-4 run to take a nine point lead, 58-49, with 5:52 left on the clock. Neumann answered with an 8-2 run to get to within three, 60-57, with 3:32 remaining. Immaculata then built its lead back up to nine and kept Neumann at arms length for the rest of the half.

Neumann (3-4, 1-2 CSAC) will take a break for finals and take the court again on December 19 when it travels to Rowan for non-conference action. The women tip-off at 6:00 PM, followed by the men at 8:00 PM in the doubleheader.
