ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Marywood University 77-64 in a key Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game on Monday evening.

Bethany Humenik led the Knights with 22 points and seven assists. JoHanna Metzger had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Laura Scott netted 11 points.

The Knights jumped out to an eight point lead, 15-7, five minutes into the game. The Pacers then made their way back and tied the game at 16-all on a free throw at the 10:24 mark. As Neumann took control of the rest of the half, the Pacers were held scoreless for five minutes while the Knights built up a 24-16 lead. The Knights finished on a 17-4 run to take a 33-20 lead into halftime.

The closest the Pacers would get in the second half would be 11 points, 65-54, with 4:07 left in regulation. The lead built in the first half by the Knights was enough for Neumann to come away with the 77-64 win.

Neumann improves to 11-11 overall and 9-4 in the conference, tied with Marywood for fourth place in the CSAC. The Knights travel to Immaculata on Wednesday evening for conference action beginning at 7 PM.
