Box Score

ASTON, Pa. The Neumann University women's lacrosse team stays grounded with their first loss of the season 14-7, snapping a five game win streak Thursday afternoon.

The Knights scored the first goal of contest, but Neumann wouldn't celebrate for long as Scranton scored the next eight goals to take an 8-1 lead.

Chrissy Hughes made two ridiculous saves at point blank range. Someone forgot to tell Hughes that the shots were supposed to be a give-me. Hughes stepped out of her cage to close down the shooting angle on the two clever saves. After she made the save, she hopped back in the cage, like a magician's slight of hand movement, unnoticed.

Rebecca Dolenti and Alexa McIntyre each scored with less than two minutes remaining in the first half and trail 8-3.

The second half started with Scranton getting three early goals and they never looked back en route to a 14-7 win.

Meghan Garsey scored two goals and had two assist to lead the Knights.

“We lost to a talented team today,” said Coach Malone. “We coming off three games in six days and I think it showed, at times.”

The Knights (5-1) host Eastern University on Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m.
