ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team fell to Eastern University 6-3 in its 2013 season opening match.

The duo of Jimmie Ferguson and Joel Maynard picked up a point at third doubles, edging the Eagles 9-7.

Ferguson also won his singles match in the sixth slate, 8-3. Todd Del Sordo won his fifth singles match 4-6, 6-0 (11-9).

“The Knights played their best today”, said Head Coach Kayla Chamberlain. “We have a very busy week and this was a good start to our season. We are ready for more battles and for our first win!”

Neumann (0-1) will host Rutgers-Camden on Thursday in the second straight match of four at home. The match is set to get underway at 4:00 PM.
