ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team picked up its first win, 9-0, over Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
The Knights took all three doubles points with ease. Dustin Broom and Bryan Bodine won first doubles 8-1, as did second doubles team Todd Del Sordo and Travis Hall. Jimmie Ferguson and Joel Maynard won third doubles 8-2.
In singles action, Broom came from behind and won 2-6, 6-0, 10-5, at first singles. Hall won his second singles match 6-2, 6-4. Bodine (third) and Maynard (fourth) swept their sets 6-0, 6-0. Del Sordo took his fifth singles match 6-4, 6-0. Stephen Moran wrapped up the clean sweep in sixth singles, 8-2.
“We are very excited for our first conference win and are looking forward to more victories,” said Coach Chamberlain on her first 9-0 win as the men's head coach.
Neumann is now 1-3 overall and 1-0 in CSAC action. The Knights will travel to Penn State-Berks on Tuesday for non-conference action beginning at 4:00 PM.
