Tennis Prepares for CSAC Postseason

4/25/2013 2:20:00 PM

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team have earned a spot in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs as the No. 4 seed. The Knights will face No.1 seeded Marywood University in the semifinals on Friday April 26 at Northwood Tennis Club in Easton, Pa.

The preseason coaches' poll reflected that the Pacers (11-4 overall, 7-0 CSAC) finish No. 1 and the Knights (7-7 overall, 4-3 CSAC) finish No. 4 in the CSAC with great accuracy.

In the regular season, the Pacers took charge in Aston, defeating the Knights 9-0 on March 28. The Pacers have a winning streak of 27 matches, dating back just over four years. They are looking to push their CSAC winning streak past four years.

The matchup between the two schools brings about a fierce rivalry that the Knights fancy. Neumann fell to Marywood 6-0 last year during the CSAC semifinals. This is the rematch that the Knights have been waiting for.

The Knights are led in singles by Bryan Bodine in conference play with a 6-1 record. Stephen Moran and Jimmie Ferguson will also help guide the Knights into the postseason. Six Knights received All-Conference honors, announced on Thursday.

The winner of this semifinal match will take on the winner of No.2 Immaculata and No. 3 Baptist Bible match on April 27.
