ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team came away with a 1-0 win against Alvernia on Wednesday evening in a chippy back and forth game.
Mike Atallian scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute off a pass from Caleb Clanton. This is the third straight 1-0 game the Knights have played in.
The game was back and forth throughout the entire 90 minutes. Each team had eight shots. Alex Lacko made the three saves needed for the shutout.
As time was winding down in regulation, the Knights were called for a foul in their end and the Crusaders had one last chance to tie the game. With just a couple second left on the clock, Lacko punched the ball away from harm and the buzzer sounded to end the game.
Neumann (4-2-2) opens conference action on Saturday when it hosts Baptist Bible for a 1:00 PM start.
