ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Gettysburg College in its home opener on Saturday afternoon.
Caleb Clanton led the Knights with a goal and two assists. Mike Atallian and Dan Chrashewsky also found the back of the net for Neumann.
Atallian opened the scoring just 2:30 into the game, off an up the middle pass from Clanton. In the 11th minute, Chrashewsky scored off a corner kick, again assisted from Clanton. The Knights would hold the 2-0 into halftime.
In the second half, the Bullets were awarded a penalty shot, which keeper Alex Lacko came up big and made the save, to keep a two goal lead. Lacko finished with four saves in net.
In the 57th minute, Clanton found the back of the net himself, off a corner kick by Tben Donnie, for a 3-0 Knights advantage.
The Bullets broke through and ended the shutout in the 83rd minute.
Neumann (2-1-1) head on the road for the next three games, beginning next Saturday at Wesley College.
