PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell at Manhattanville College 81-66 on Monday evening in non-conference action.

Erica Marvel led four Knights in double-figures with 17 points. Colleen Hinde and Jessica Schlesman each added 12 while JoHanna Metzger netted 10.

The first 12 minutes remained close with each team holding a small lead. With 8:25 left in the first half, and the teams tied at 18, the Valiants went on a 18-5 run to finish out the first 20 minutes and take a 36-23 lead into the half.

Manhattanville kept Neumann at a comfortable distance for most of the half, but with 5:22 left in regulation, Hinde made two free throws to bring the Knights to within six, 61-55. The Valiants answered with eight straight points to take back a double-digit lead, a lead in which they would not relinquish in the final three minutes of the game.

Neumann (11-8) heads back to conference action on Saturday when it travels to Immaculata. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
