ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team held off Centenary College on Tuesday afternoon, 2-1, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Devin Peterson scored the first goal of the game late in the first half. He headed the ball into the back of the net off a corner kick from Brooks Skyers.
The teams waited for the final 10 minutes of regulation before finding the net again. The Cyclones tied the game at one in the 84th minute. That tie was short lived as right off the tip-off, Christian Cortese scored for the Knights to give them back the lead. Tben Donnie assisted on the game-winner.
Dan Jones kept Neumann in a great position to win the game, making seven saves.
Neumann evens its record to, now 8-8-1 overall and remains perfect, 8-0 in CSAC play. The Knights have clinched the No. 1 seed in the postseason and will wrap up the regular season on Saturday at Baptist Bible. Action gets underway at 2:00 PM.
