ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team defeated Marywood University 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Christian Cortese scored his first two collegiate goals in the game, including the game-winner. Dan Jones made five saves in net.

Cortese scored his first goal off a flurry in front of the net. Evan Fahey tipped the ball to Cortese and he put it in the back of the net for his first goal and a 1-0 Knights lead in the 26^th minute. The freshman then scored his second goal as Tben Donnie took the ball down the field and crossed it to Cortese in the 34^th minute. Neumann held a 2-0 at the half.

The Pacers cut the Knights lead in half in the 68^th minute. Marywood tried to get the tying goal, but to no avail. Zach DiDonato then gave Neumann an insurance goal when he sank a pass from Jake McDevitt in the 88^th minute.

Each team had six shots on net.

Neumann (3-7-1, 3-0) will look for its fourth straight win when it hosts Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The conference game gets underway at 1:00 PM.
