ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team opened the season with a 60-52 win against Rutgers-Camden in the Neumann Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Jessica Schlesman and Holly McKaig led the Knights with 15 points. Sarah Roberts added 10 points.

The first half went back and forth and featured a tie-game five times. With the score knotted at 19, 5:36 left in the first, the baskets became hard to come by. The Scarlet Raptors were able to net the only baskets left in the half to take a 23-19 lead into halftime.

The second half was much like the first, with neither team being able to hold a leader bigger than six points, until the end. Schlesman was able to make key free throws down the stretch to keep the game just out of reach for Rutgers-Camden, including two with 37 seconds on the clock. Free throws by Latisha Johnson and Roberts sealed the win.

Neumann (1-0) will face Wesley College tomorrow in the Championship game. Tip-off is slated for 4:00 PM. Rutgers-Camden will face King's (Pa.) in the consolation game beginning at 2:00 PM.
