RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell at Cabrini College 69-62 in overtime on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Erica Marvel led the Knights with 17 points. Jessica Schlesman added 13.
Cabrini hit a three pointer with six seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime, tied at 56. In the extra session, the Cavaliers scored seven of the first eight points to take a 64-57 lead with a minute and a half remaining. Schlesman hit a three-pointer with 32 seconds left on the clock to get the Knights to within five, but two free throws by the Cavaliers sealed the win.
Regulation remained close, with the largest lead by either team at only seven points. Cabrini held a seven point lead, 32-25, with 3:50 left in the first half. The Knights scored the only four points the rest of the half for a 32-29 score at the half.
Schlesman opened the second half scoring with a three-pointer to knot the game at 32. The half would consist of four ties and seven lead changes. Two free throws by Lauren Walker, with 15 seconds left in regulation, gave Neumann a 56-53 advantage. Cabrini would connect on a three, with six seconds on the clock, to send the game to overtime.
Neumann (14-9, 11-4 CSAC) wraps-up regular season action on Wednesday evening when it travels to Baptist Bible. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
