LIMA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team defeated Penn State-Brandywine 7-2 on Monday afternoon.
Neumann opened the afternoon by taking two of the three doubles matches. Todd Del Sordo and Stephen Moran won their match at third doubles 8-2. The duo of Bryan Bodine and Joel Maynard took second doubles 8-3.
The Knights then took five of the six singles matches. Jimmie Ferguson won his match at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-2. Moran took fifth singles, 6-4, 6-1. At second singles, Dustin Broom won 6-2, 6-3. After falling in his first set 6-1, Bodine came back and won his first singles flight 6-0, 6-3. Del Sordo split his first two sets, 6-3. He then picked up the win for fourth singles 6-4.
"This was an awesome way to start our long week," said Head Coach Kayla Chamberlain as the Knights have four matches this week.
Neumann (4-2) will host Immaculata tomorrow afternoon in a rescheduled CSAC match. Action gets underway at 3:30 PM.
