EASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team defeated Gwynedd Mercy University 5-2 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal on Friday morning.

With the win, the Knights advance to the CSAC Championship match on Saturday afternoon against either No. 2 seeded Marywood. Neumann snapped Marywood's 32 consecutive CSAC match winning streak during the regular season. The Knights came away with the narrow 5-4 win.

Neumann battled for every point in the match. The Knights came away with two of the three points in doubles action. The duo of Bryan Bodine and Joel Maynard took second doubles 8-5. Todd Del Sordo and Stephen Moran won third doubles 8-6. First doubles came down to the wire, but Dustin Broom and Travis Hall ended up on the wrong side of the 9-8 (7-2) score.

In singles action, Broom won at second singles 6-3, 6-1. Del Sordo took fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1. Moran clinched the fifth and deciding point 6-1, 6-0 at sixth singles to send the Knights to the Championship Match.

Neumann is now 10-5 overall. The CSAC Championship match gets underway at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
